Biofuel Production

Nanoparticles or nanometer particles are particles that are generally smaller than 50 nm and have unique morphology, large porosity and altered electronic state. To exploit these unique properties, we have been collaborating with scientists in chemical engineering, chemistry, physics and other departments at K-State to develop nanostructured particles for biomass pretreatment, cellulose hydrolysis and biofuel production.
