Why Choose Biological & Agricultural Engineering?
We bring engineering to life
Our graduates design systems to meet the needs of living beings, whether those systems involve humans, livestock, plants, or single-cell organisms. We apply engineering skills to produce agricultural machinery, clean water and air in our environment, safe and healthy food, biomass energy, and bio-based products.

Biological and agricultural engineers develop the techniques and systems to work with living systems, including plants and animals. They work to produce them and process them into useful products like food, fiber, energy, chemical feedstocks, and pharmaceuticals. They also emphasize using soil and water resources efficiently and protecting the environment to improve water quality, control air pollution, and clean up contaminated soils.

K-State is the only university in Kansas that offers a biological and agricultural engineering degree program.
