Goldwater Scholarship Awarded to BSE Student

Emily Tummons, BSE junior (Leawood, Kansas), has been named as a recipient of the  2010 Barry M. Goldwater Scholarship.  Emily is among 278 students who will receive scholarships annually for her final one or two years  of undergraduate study.  The scholars were selected on the basis of academic merit from 1,111 applicants.  This information has been supplied from the Goldwater Scholarship Program.  Emily is a member of the Tau Beta Pi Engineering Honor Society, National Society of Collegiate Scholars and Golden Key International Honor Society.  She is a member of the Alpha Chi Omega Sorority and a participant in the Sorority’s intramurals.  Emily has received the Medallion Scholarship, Beckman Memorial Scholarship, the Regan Scholarship and College of Engineering scholarships through the Kansas State University Foundation.  Emily graduated from St. Teresa’s Academy in 2007 and is the daughter of Philip and Louann Tummons.  (Information from K-State Media Relations)
