Two great majors, one great department
The BAE Department at Kansas State offers two undergraduate degrees: Biological & Agricultural Engineering from the College of Engineering, and Agricultural Technology Management from the College of Agriculture. BAE faculty teach classes in both majors. Because both majors are specialized programs and most faculty also do research or extension education, student and faculty and student-to-student interactions are high in the department.

Not only do we bring solutions to life, we foster a life-sustaining environment for our students. In addition, our students have more opportunities for leadership, working part-time for faculty on research, and participating in student competitions. More opportunities lead you to faster and fuller development of your potential as a person and as a professional.
Our department has a rich diversity of people and ideas. Students, staff, and faculty of BAE are members of a diverse and collaborative community. We focus on developing an inclusive learning and work environment where students, staff, and faculty appreciate the benefits of interacting with others who differ in gender and racial/ethnic backgrounds. Our goal is to foster a life-sustaining environment for our students where they will have ample opportunities for developing leadership skills, working part-time for faculty on research projects, and participating in student competitions.
