Powercat Tractors are the only team that has placed in the top three continuously over the past seven years.

In 2005, the Kansas State University Powercat Tractors were successful in placing 2nd at the third ASAE International Design Competition.

The 1/4 Scale Tractor Design Competition is sponsored by ASAE, The American Society of Agricultural Engineers.  The K-State team is comprised of Agricultural Technology Management and Biological and Agricultural Engineering Students.  The team members gain practical experience in the design of drivetrain systems, tractor performance, manufacturing processes, analysis of tractive forces, weight transfer, strength of materials, and testing and development.   In addition, students develop skills in communication, leadership, teamwork and fundraising.
